November 30, 7:00 p.m. ~ Town & Gown Series Presents "USS Defiance," Stroede Center for the Arts

The U.S.S. Defiance served during WWII. During a period of 20 months and 7 days, the U.S.S. LST 946 - Fort Defiance covered 60,000 miles in the Pacific Ocean. Approximately 200 Navy men and 15 officers lived aboard her at one time or another. Richard Rozevink will highlight the history of this ship. Event is free and open to the public

Salzedo Harp DuoDecember 3, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Salzedo Harp Duo, Stroede Center for the Arts

Harpists Nancy Lendrim and Jody Guinn have performed together for over 25 years as the Salzedo Harp Duo. Familiar to Defiance audiences for their arrangements of classical music for the harp, the duo kicks off the Christmas season with a holiday concert. Tickets are $10.00 at the door.

The Polar ExpressDecember 9, 2:00 p.m. ~ Cinema at the Stroede for Kids Presents "The Polar Express," Stroede Center for the Arts

The Polar Express movie will be shown at 2:00 p.m. with hot chocolate and treats after the movie. There will also be a visit from Santa and train display by Terry Howarth. Feel free to wear your pajamas, robes, and slippers. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suggested free will donation.

Amicus DuoJanuary 7, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Amicus Duo, Stroede Center for the Arts

Amicus Duo was born in 2014 when cellist Coleman Itzkoff and pianist Alin Melik-Adamyan began their musical collaboration. Graduate students at USC, they have performed, as both soloists and partners, music from the classical cello and piano repertoire. Tickets are $10.00 at the door.

Swingmania's goal is to entertain from a musical library that includes all the Big Band names such as Kenton, Krupa, and Dorsey. This year's concert features the arrangements of Defiance's own Milt Buckner. Tickets are $10.00 in advance or at the door.

Spangler SistersFebruary 18, 7:00 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Spangler Sisters, Stroede Center for the Arts

Arranger, composer, and pianist Julie Spangler performs with her sister Lora, a performer with the Toledo Repertory Theater and Crosby Opera House. Their concert presents a program from the American Song Book and musical theater. Tickets are $10.00 at the door.

Big Band Sound of the DCCBFebruary 24, 7:30 p.m. ~ DCCC Performance Series Presents Big Band Sound of the DCCB, Defiance Eagles

Whenever the Big Band Sound of the DCCB performs, you can expect to hear the music of Miller and Ellington among others. This year is no exception. Enjoy an evening of listening and dancing to the familiar Big Band repertoire. Tickets are $10.00 in advance or at the door.
